The Power of Focus

When we try to fix everything at once, we end up exhausted and stuck in the same cycle. Real progress happens when we focus on one key action—the thing that will move us forward in a significant way.

Imagine a runner at the starting line. If they overanalyze every step before taking the first, they’ll never begin. But once they push off that starting block, momentum takes over. Your next step is the push that gets you moving.


How to Determine Your Next Step

If you’re unsure what that one step should be, ask yourself:

  1. What’s the one thing I keep thinking about but haven’t acted on?

  2. If I could only accomplish one thing this month, what would make the biggest impact?

  3. What’s something I’ve been avoiding because it feels uncomfortable or scary?

Often, the next step has been nudging us for a while—we just haven’t fully acknowledged it. Whether it’s making a decision, reaching out to someone, committing to a discipline, or stepping outside your comfort zone, trust that you already know what it is.


Taking Bold Action

Once you’ve identified your one thing, the next step is simple: take action. Even if it’s small, even if you don’t feel 100% ready—just start.

  • If your next step is a decision, make it today.

  • If it’s a habit, commit to starting now.

  • If it’s reaching out to someone, send the message.

  • If it’s launching something, take the first visible step.


Reflection & Application

Breakthrough isn’t about knowing every detail. It’s about trusting God, stepping out in faith, and letting momentum carry you forward. This week take a moment to reflect:

  • What’s the one step I’ve been avoiding but know I need to take?

  • How would my life shift if I committed to it this week?

Consider journaling your thoughts, write down your one thing for this week. Then, take the first step toward it today. No waiting, no overthinking—just movement. Because once you start, momentum will follow.
