Something Needs to Change — But I Don’t Know What

I found myself thinking about this recently.

I’ve been putting a lot into building my business.

Showing up. Writing. Planning. Creating. Staying consistent… even when it would be easier not to.

And in the middle of all of that, a question has quietly been sitting with me:

Am I actually on the right track?

Not because anything has gone wrong.

Not because everything is falling apart.

But because I’m in a transition.

And if I’m honest, transition can feel… uncomfortable.

It’s usually when things slowdown that the question comes back.

Not loudly.

Just gently… but persistently.

Am I doing the right things?

Am I moving in the right direction?

And I’ve realised—it’s in those quiet moments that the truth tends to surface.

It’s not about getting it right in that moment.

It’s just you—being honest with what’s there.

And that’s often where awareness begins.

I don’t think we talk about this part enough.

Because sometimes the hardest seasons are not the ones where everything is clearly wrong.

Sometimes it’s when everything looks fine… but internally, something has shifted.

You can’t always explain it.

You just know things don’t sit the same way anymore.

And it’s easy to brush past that.

You stay busy.

You keep going.

You tell yourself not to overthink it.

But that inner nudge doesn’t disappear.

And I’m starting to understand something.

That feeling isn’t always doubt.

Sometimes… it’s awareness.

An awareness that something no longer fits the way it once did.

An awareness that you may be outgrowing a version of your life.

An awareness that you’re changing—even if your circumstances haven’t caught up yet.

And that can feel unsettling.

Because you don’t have clarity yet.

You don’t have clear answers.

Just a sense that something needs to shift.

And this is why awareness matters.

Because it’s the moment you stop ignoring what you already sense.

It doesn’t give you all the answers—but it brings you back into alignment with yourself.

And that’s where real change begins.

What this can look like

It doesn’t always come in obvious ways.

Sometimes it shows up as:

  • Doing all the “right” things, yet feeling slightly off

  • Losing connection with what once felt meaningful

  • Showing up, but not quite feeling like yourself

  • Sensing a shift… without knowing what to do with it

Nothing is necessarily wrong.

But something isn’t aligned anymore.

What do you do with that?

This is what I’m learning.

You don’t rush to fix it.

You don’t force clarity before it’s ready.

You pause.

You pay attention.

  • What has been draining me lately?

  • Where do I feel most like myself?

  • What have I been sensing… but avoiding?

Because clarity doesn’t always come first.

Awareness does.

And when you honour that awareness, clarity begins to follow.

Reflection

What in my life no longer feels aligned?

Have I been honest with myself about it…

or have I been trying to push past what I’m sensing?

Faith reflection

I’m learning that not every season comes with clear direction.

Sometimes, it starts with a nudge.

A discomfort you can’t quite explain.

A quiet sense that something needs attention.

And that doesn’t mean you’re off track.

It may be God gently drawing your attention to something you can no longer ignore.

Not to overwhelm you.

But to realign you.

There are seasons where the most important step isn’t doing more…

it’s becoming more aware.

Prayer

Lord, help me to be honest with myself.

Where something no longer feels aligned, give me the courage to acknowledge it.

Where I feel uncertain, give me peace.

And where I need clarity, lead me gently.

Help me to trust that even in this space of not fully knowing, you are guiding me.

Amen.

Confidence Mantra

I trust what I’m sensing.

Awareness is leading me into alignment.

If this is where you find yourself right now, you’re not alone.

Sometimes the shift doesn’t start with a big decision—

it starts with understanding what’s really going on beneath the surface.

And that’s something we can explore together.
