Last week, we focused on committing to action and taking the first step toward breakthrough. Now, as we move forward, we must acknowledge and confront the obstacles that try to stand in our way. Every journey toward greatness comes with challenges, but the difference between staying stuck and breaking through is learning how to overcome what holds you back.

Recognizing What’s Holding You Back

When you set out to achieve something significant, resistance often shows up in different forms. It could be self-doubt, fear of failure, procrastination, negative self-talk, or even external circumstances that seem beyond your control.

Ask yourself:

  • What recurring thoughts make me hesitate or second-guess my abilities?

  • What habits or patterns have kept me from moving forward?

  • Am I allowing fear, comfort, or past failures to dictate my future?

The first step in overcoming obstacles is identifying them. When you can name what’s holding you back, you take away its power over you.

  3. Change Your Environment – Surround yourself with people who encourage and uplift you. The right support system can help you stay motivated even when things get tough.

  4. Stop Waiting for Perfect Conditions – The “right time” may never come. Move forward with what you have, where you are.

  5. Lean Into Faith and Purpose – Remember why you started. When challenges arise, hold onto your purpose and trust that you are equipped to handle what comes your way.

I refuse to let obstacles define me—I will rise above them and step fully into the life You have called me to. Give me wisdom, courage, and faith to keep moving forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
